Foothills Gymnastics Academy dominated the Classic City Challenge in Athens, Ga. on April 7, earning the top team spot with each team winning first-place trophies in their division.

Xcel Bronze gymnasts Genevieve Ard, Grace Baglia, Jill Brown and Virginia Then represented FGA. Ard earned third on vault with 9.0, tied for first on bars with 9.45, fourth on beam with 8.8, tied for fourth on floor with 9.05 and second all around with 36.30. Baglia received first on floor with a 9.25, second on beam with a 9.225, second on bars with a 9.25, sixth on vault with 7.2 and fifth all around with 34.925.

Brown earned first on vault with a 9.475, first on bars with a 9.45, first on beam with a 9.3, second on floor with a 9.0 and first all around with 37.225. Then earned third on vault with a 8.7, third on bars with a 9.15, fourth on beam with a 9.0, fourth on floor with a 8.75 and second all around with a 35.60 all around.

Xcel silver gymnasts Reeve Carroll, Zina Ishwar and Anna-Carlisle Keim also competed at the meet. Carroll earned first on vault with a 9.325, tied for third on bars with a 9.6, third on bars with a 9.4, tied for second on floor with a 9.2, and first all around with a 37.525. Ishwar received first on vault with a 9.25, third on bars with a 9.3, second on beam with a 9.3, second on floor with a 9.175 and first all around with 37.025. Keim earned second on vault with 9.325, first on bars with 9.7, first on beam with 9.475, first on floor with 9.3 and second all around with a 37.20.

Xcel Gold gymnasts Eliza Then, Jessica Sizemore and Hurley Bell also enjoyed a successful day. Then earned fourth on vault with 8.55, fifth on bars with 9.150, second on beam with 8.925, fifth on floor with 9.0 and fourth all around with 35.625. Bell received first on vault with 9.225, second on bars with 9.575, first on beam with 9.45, first on floor with 9.3 and first all around with 37.55. Sizemore earned first on vault with 8.9, first on bars with 9.475, first on beam with 8.75, first on floor with 9.25 and first all around with 36.375.

FGA will compete next at the North Carolina AAU state championship at the end of April.
